Q:  How are my U65 chargebacks calculated?
A:  For all U65 New and renewal policies: if a contract cancels a pro-rated commission chargeback will be calculated based on the number of months the contract was active during the calendar year.

Q:  When are commissions paid out each month?

A:  They are paid out by the 15th of each month.

Q:  When are commissions statements available?

A:  They will be uploaded to your agent portal within 3 days of receiving your commission deposit.

Q:  Why didn't I get paid for prior active policies and/or policies re-written?

A:  The lapse in coverage determines whether the policy will be paid out to you or
the new AOR (Agent of Record)

Q:  Why am I receiving prorated commissions?

A:  In some cases, Florida Blue may elect to prorate Medicare commissions for new
policies with effective dates 2/1 and beyond. Should this occur, Alliance will prorate
the commission according to Florida Blue’s proration guidelines.

Q:  When do I need to submit “Commission disputes” for policies not paid out per statement?

A:  Depending on when the policy was written/submitted, Florida Blue may pay out commissions on the following month's statement. Please allow 1 additional commission cycle, from the policy's effective date, to verify if paid.

ie: 1/1/2021 policies should be paid out on your January statement; some may be paid out on your February statement. If you did not receive your 1/1/2021 commissions on the January or February statements, then you will need to submit a Commission Dispute Form to commissions@alliance321.com

Q:  Why did I not receive my full U65 renewal commissions for Open Enrollment?

A:  To receive 100% of the under 65 product renewal commission, agents must actively write Florida Blue products and agents must actively be involved in their client retention. Please see your contract.

Q:  What is the difference between “New to Blue” and “New to Medicare”?

A: “New to Blue” means that the client already had an existing Medicare policy through another carrier other than Florida Blue.

“New to Medicare” means that the client has never had a Medicare policy before.

Q:  How are my O65 chargebacks calculated?

A:  For O65 New Sales:  There will be a full commission chargeback on Medicare Advantage and Part D contracts that cancel within the first 3 months from the effective date of the contract. If a contract cancels in months 4 – 12, a pro-rated chargeback will be calculated based on the number of months the contract remained active. No chargebacks will apply to new sale commissions if the contract remains active for 12 months from the original effective date; in the case of a mid-year enrollment, no chargeback will be applied if the contract remains active for the balance of the calendar year.

For O65 Renewals:  Renewal commissions will follow the same chargeback rules that are in place for new sales commissions. If a contract cancels within 90 days of the annual renewal, a full commission chargeback of that year’s renewal commission will be applied. If a contract cancels during the remaining 9 months of the renewal year, a prorated chargeback of that year's renewal commission will be applied by the number of months the contract was active during the renewal year.
